As part of the premiere in theaters on May 5, 2022, the official trailer for Avatar The Way of Water will premiere in advance of showings of Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. This trailer came out online in the official Avatar YouTube channel on Monday, May 9, breaking Disney’s record for the number of views it got in the first day, surpassing all the trailers for the new Star Wars movies. The trailer gathered 148.6 million views in its first day, beating all previous trailers for these movies. There is no way that I would think that everyone would care about Avatar anymore, that is why it would be ludicrous for anyone to think that. This trailer proves that James Cameron hasn’t lost a beat in the 13 years since the release of the first film, showcasing some stunning visual effects work in exploring the underwater scenery of Pandora as well as the family members of Jake Sully and Neytiri.
On November 2, 2022, the official full trailer for Avatar The Way of Water was released. We get a glimpse of some of the film’s new characters, including those played by Stephen Lang and Kate Winslet, as well as a better look at the family dynamic between Jake, Neytiri, and their children in the two-and-a-half minute preview. It has been a long time coming. Since the demand of the film began in 2010, the film has been delayed eight times theatrically, with the final delay being announced in June of 2020, which brings us to the current release date of 2022. A third film is scheduled to be released in December of 2024, while a fourth film is scheduled to be released in December of 2026, while a final movie is scheduled to be released in December of 2028. Apparently, the second movie will have a run time of approximately three hours and ten minutes, so this movie is sure to be one of the most enjoyable films of all time.

Avatar The Way of Water Cast?
In Avatar The Way of Water, a lot of the same actors that appear in the first film return to play their roles, including Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Matt Gerald, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Dileep Rao, and Giovanni Ribisi as well. Sigourney Weaver and Stephen Lang will also be seen in Avatar The Way of Water somehow… (Spoiler alert: they, ummmm, died in Avatar…) … (Spoiler alert: they, uh, died in Avatar?). Apparently, Weaver will be playing a new character called Kiri, the adopted daughter of Jake and Neytiri.
As well as Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Edie Falco, Michelle Yeoh, Jemaine Clement, Oona Chaplin, and Vin Diesel, the cast has been augmented with exciting new additions.

Which are the new characters in Avatar: The Way of Water?
We learn a lot about a new tribe of people on Pandora during Avatar: The Way of Water, the reef-dwellers of the Metkayina, thanks to much of the story taking place in the underwater reefs of Pandora.
There are two characters in the film: Kate Winslet portrays Rona, a free diver and a member of the Metkayina tribe, and Cliff Curtis portrays Tonowari, the leader of the Metkayina tribe.
As for the human characters, Edie Falco appears as General Ardmore, the woman in charge of protecting the mining interests, Jemaine Clement plays Dr. Ian Garvin, the marine biologist, Michelle Yeoh plays Dr. Karina Mogue, and Oona Chaplin plays Varang, the character referred to as the light of day.
In Avatar The Way of Water, we still have no idea exactly what sort of role Vin Diesel is going to play, but we are really looking forward to finding out what he will do.
When is Avatar: The Way of Water Filming?
In February 2017, James Cameron announced that the sequels had been written, and the preliminary shooting for Avatar The Way of Water began in California on August 15, 2017 after the writing for the sequel was completed. The filming for Avatar: The Way of Water began in September, and the digital effect work began in the summer as well. There were a number of underwater motion-capture cameras being used between November 2017 and May of 2018 for both Avatar: The Way of Water and Avatar 3. Avatar: The Way of Water and its sequel had been completed by Zoe Saldana by June of 2018, and the filming took place for the next six months in New Zealand. The motion-capture part of the filming was finally completed in November of 2018 as well as the live-action portion of the filming began in November.
The filming of live-action took place in New Zealand in February 2019, lasting until November of 2019 and then resuming in 2020 after a break for the holidays. On March 17, 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic forced production to remain in Los Angeles indefinitely as the pandemic halted production on the film Avatar: The Way of Water. In June of 2020, James Cameron announced that the live-action filming had been completed, with the filming of the live-action movie finally beginning in June 2020.
What is the storyline of Avatar: The Way of Water?
It is not clear to us yet whether the sequel Avatar: The Way of Water will take place on Pandora approximately 12 years after the first movie. We have been informed that many of the details of the second movie are still under wraps. Having made the choice of permanently transferring his human consciousness into the form of his Avatar body and becoming the new leader of the Na’vi people on Pandora for several years, Jake Sully (Worthington) has been living on Pandora for many years now. During their time together, a Na’vi native Neytiri (Saldana), who became his wife, he had children.
In the wake of the RDA’s return to Pandora and their mining operations, Jake and Neytiri have been forced to flee their home and take their family with them in order to escape the colonizing forces. The details about how Lang will return to his former role as Colonel Miles Quaritch in the Avatar franchise are not yet clear, but he’s set to reprise the role as the main villain in this and future installments of the series.
We will be introduced to the Metkayina people through Avatar: The Way of Water, a film that explores Pandora’s underwater life and focuses on the unknown parts of Pandora. During the second film, the Metkayina are the central community of the Pandora universe who live in the oceans and reefs, and they are a clan of Pandora natives.
“The sequel will be a natural extension of all the themes, the characters, and the spiritual undercurrents that have already been established in the first film,” Cameron said in an interview with Vanity Fair. There are essentially two types of people who will love each other, so if you love the first movie, you’re probably going to love the second movie, and if you hate the first movie, you’ll probably hate this movie. If you liked it when it first came out and later said that you hated it, you’re likely to like these as well.”

Avatar: The Way of Water film Budget
This follow up was shot at the same time as the follow up that followed it, in September 2017, according to the information provided by the studio. It is estimated that the movie will have a budget of approximately 250 million dollars (INR 1909 crores almost). Avatar 2 is expected to be released on 16 December 2022 in 160 languages worldwide.
How will the Avatar films be titled?
The BBC News previously reported that it had seen documents which revealed the following titles for the four sequels to the film:
