A strategic partnership between Gogoro and Zypp Electric in India will accelerate the transition to electric powered last mile delivery vehicles – The Companies plan to Launch a B2B Pilot Battery Swapping in Delhi in December 2022 that will enable Last Mile Delivery Fleets to Electrify via the Gogoro Network Battery Swapping platform, which has been proven to be reliable, safe, and reliable, as a battery swapping platform for over 350 million batteries.

India Establishes New Two-wheel EV Standards
As part of its proactive approach to electric vehicle safety, the Indian government has proposed new standards and requirements for vehicles, batteries, charging systems, and battery swapping systems as part of its commitment to establishing a new standard for electric vehicle safety. As a result of these new standards, India will be able to keep up with global standards in terms of electric vehicles in the coming years.

Shoonya Zero-Pollution Mobility Campaign
Gogoro is supporting a public awareness campaign for “Shoonya — Zero-Pollution Mobility,” spearheaded by the Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) and the National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog), an Indian government think tank that deals with public policy. An electric vehicle campaign titled “Shoonya — Zero-Pollution Mobility” aims to promote the use of electric vehicles for urban deliveries and ride-hailing services. Shoonya, which means zero in Sanskrit, implies the emergence of possibility. The Shoonya campaign, derived from this connotation, intends to revolutionize the transportation sector by converting it to a zero-emission vehicle system in a radical and urgent manner. India Battery Swapping Association (IBSA)
As the name suggests, IBSA is the industry association formed by the top battery swapping companies in India to promote their views and provide technical input to the government and the general public in regard to battery swapping. IBSA was founded by Gogoro in 2005. The IBSA has made significant contributions in the short period of time that it has been in existence in the form of inputs to India’s Battery Swapping Policy and Standard making at the BIS.
Gogoro Appoints Kaushik Burman as General Manager of India
Previously, Kaushik Burman was a General Manager at Shell in Europe and Asia before joining Gogoro as the general manager of India for Gogoro. Prior to joining Gogoro, Burman was the head of its global expansion. As a business leader, Burman has extensive experience in roles across Europe, North America, and Asia. Aside from his industry experience in the transport, energy, and fintech verticals – he has a strong emphasis on directing P&L and driving innovation across the sectors.
