Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna 2023: The scheme aims to supplement the financial needs of all landholding farmers’ families in purchasing various inputs for the purpose of ensuring proper crop health and appropriate yields, which are commensurate with the anticipated income of the farm and the necessities of the domestic environment. As part of this scheme, the central government releases the amount of Rs.6000/- per year directly into the bank accounts of eligible farmers, subject to some exclusions, in accordance with the Direct Benefit Transfer mode.

Benefits and Eligibility conditions

  1. The cabinet decision took in May 2019 stated that all eligible land holding farmer families (subject to the prevalent exclusion criteria) are entitled to access the benefits of this scheme. It is expected that the revised PM-KISAN scheme will cover around 2 crores more farmers, increasing the coverage of the scheme to approximately 14.5 crores.
  2. Small and marginal landholder farmer families have been benefitting from the scheme under which the total cultivable holding is between 2 hectares and 6000 rupees per annum per family, to be paid in three equal installments every four months, according to the cultivation capacity of their land.

Exclusion Categories

A scheme will not be available to the following categories of beneficiaries who are of a higher economic status and qualify for benefits under the scheme:

  1. All Institutional Landholders.
  2. A farmer family consisting of at least one member belonging to one of these categories can be categorized as a farmer family
  3. Posts held by former and current constitutional office holders
  4. Members of the LokSabha/ Rajya Sabha/ State Legislative Assemblies/ State Legislative Councils in the past and present, as well as members of the LokSabha/ Rajya Sabha, former and present Mayors of Municipal Corporations, former and present Chairpersons of District Panchayats.
  5. The following are the officers and employees of the Central/ State Government Ministries, Offices, Departments and its field units, as well as PSEs and Attached offices and autonomous institutions regulated by the Government, as well as the regular employees of the Local Bodies (excluding multi-tasking staff, Class IV or Group D employees)
  6. It comprises of all superannuated/retired pensioners whose monthly pension is Rs.10,000/- or more (Excluding Multi Tasking Staff / Class IV/Group D employees) who are part of the above categories of employees.
  7. It is applicable to all individuals who paid income tax in the last assessment year
  8. A professional is a person who has registered with a professional body and carries out their profession by engaging in practicing their profession. Examples of professional are doctors, engineers, lawyers, Chartered Accountants, and architects.

There is a financial benefit of Rs. 6000 per annum per family payable every four months in three equal installments of Rs 2000 each.

  • In order to be eligible to enroll, you must meet the following requirements:
  1. Aadhaar Card
  2. Landholding paper
  3. Saving bank account
  • There are several fields that the VLE will question the farmer about, such as where he lives, what district, which subdistrict, and village he comes from, his Aadhaar number, name of beneficiary, category of beneficiary, bank details, land registration ID, and the date of birth that is printed on his Aadhaar card for authentication.
  • According to the land holding papers, the VLE is supposed to fill out details regarding the land such as Survey/ Kahta No., Khasra No. and the area of the land.
  • Make sure to upload the supporting documentation, such as title deeds, the Aadhar, and the bank statement.
  • The self declaration form will be accepted and saved once you have accepted it.
  • Once you have saved the application form, you will need to make a payment through your CSC ID.

10. How will the beneficiary be affected if the declarations he/she provides for the application of the scheme are incorrect?

The beneficiary shall be liable, in the event of an incorrect declaration, for the recovery of transferred financial benefits as well as other legal penalties as determined by law.
